First 10,000 Women Class – Lagos, Nigeria

Pan-African University

On May 27th, the first class of 10,000 Women scholarship recipients enrolled at the Pan-African University in Lagos, Nigeria.

Over the next four months, this group of small business owners – whose enterprises range from agribusiness to fashion, from education to entertainment, and from estate management to sports management – will complete a certificate course in entrepreneurial management to enhance their core business knowledge.

These women will also have access to business advisory services, and critical networking and mentoring opportunities that extend the benefits of the program beyond the classroom. These include an online mentoring program that allows the people of Goldman Sachs to directly contribute their time and talents to support these women throughout the program.

By offering this outstanding group of women access to opportunity, and providing them with the skills and resources they need to seize that opportunity, 10,000 Women hopes to help them – and hopefully tens of thousands of others – around the world achieve their true potential.

	Shonoiki Saidat Abiodun	SgS Agroconsult Enterprise	Shonoiki Saidat Abiodun, an animal nutritionist, started SgS Agroconsult Enterprise, an animal feed production company, four years ago. Her goal is to become a top manager and major exporter and producer of Aqua Floating Feeds.
	Sotomi Patience Ibiere	Inkwell	Sotomi Patience Ibiere started Inkwell, specializing in HR consulting, recruitment and training, two years ago. Sotomi would like to build on her entrepreneurial skills and learn ways to decrease turnover and increase profit. She also looks forward to networking opportunities.
